Under the responsibility of the Financial Product crew, the SAP Hana platform is a key element of the Finance value chain since supporting the General Ledger product (Core SAP S/4Hana solution, FI and CO modules), the Consolidation product (SAP BFC module), the Expenses Management product (SAP PaPM module and Fiori interface), the Treasury product (AP/AR and TRM/BCM modules), a Planning and Landing product (SAP BPC and Fiori modules) and a reporting layer (BW/HANA, SAC and AfO).

The SAP BDC Tech Lead is accountable of the consistency of technical solution implemented on the platform and coordinate the version upgrades of technical components.
    Participates in the solution’s technical design with the Solution Architect and is responsible for the proper application of IT guidelines.
    Oversees and contributes to developments to ensure their quality and consistency and helps the development team to increase their competence in the technologies involved by providing ad-hoc expertise when needed.
    Defines infrastructure resources and deployment logic along with the architects and the DevOps and Cloud CoE. 
    Solicits / involves developers in technical and architectural orientations
    Works closely with the Solution Owner to help steering the Squad backlog, particularly regarding prioritization against complexity.
 

Responsibilities

Management:
•    You coordinate technical design across squads of the platform.
•    You identify potential risks, monitor existing issues and put in place the appropriate mitigation plan.

Design/Implementation/Delivery/Run:
•    You guarantee the transversal solution design to ensure solution consistency.
•    You identify the non-functional User Stories and make them prioritized by the PO.
•    You monitor versions and organize upgrades to avoid issues due to deprecated components.
•    You oversee and contribute to developments.
•    You help the development team to increase their competencies.
•    You participate to infrastructure resources definition and deployment logic along with the Solution Architects and the DevOps and Cloud CoE. .
•    You define and monitor the most appropriate technical monitoring procedure for the platform services and the corresponding KPI’s.
•    You define and monitor the implementation of the continuous integration and delivery pipeline and corresponding KPI’s.

Testing:
•    You define and monitor the unit test strategy and corresponding KPI’s.
•    You define and monitor with the support of the test lead the performance testing activities.
 

Qualifications

Experience
•    +7 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably within the (re)insurance sector, as part of a financial services company or similar organization
•    Relevant additional management certification may be required + 7 years of (full stack) coding experience and a proven track record of successful technical oriented team management as part of an international organization

Hard skills
•    Strong experience of Business & IT agile ways of working
•    Strong technical skills on SAP BDC scope (BW/HANA, SAC, Datasphere).
•    First experience with SAP Databricks would be a plus.
•    Strong expertise in software architecture and development lifecycle, managing the solution’s technical direction with a constant attention to performance to deal with very volume of data
•    Strong expertise in software testing, developing, automate testing processes and then improving team and system efficiency
•    Strong leadership, guiding the rest of the team regarding the product's technical aspects
•    Understanding of documented IT guidelines when working in a large organization
•    High curiosity about technology / coding innovation
•    Fluent in English (written, spoken)

•    Strong analytical thinking, solution-oriented and force of proposals
•    Ability and strong experience in managing multi-disciplinary technical resources with the right level of delegation and autonomy
•    Decision making capabilities: identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences

•    Capacity to navigate in a matrixial and international environment

Required Education 
·    BA/MD technical degree in information services management, computer science, applied mathematics or related fields, or equivalent work experience
