WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

The Salesperson exists to guide customers through one of the most significant purchases of their lives — buying a vehicle — while driving gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction across Step One Automotive Group's dealership locations.

This role is the primary face of the dealership on the showroom floor and sales lot. Salespeople are responsible for the full customer journey: from initial greeting and needs discovery through vehicle selection, demonstration, negotiation, financing handoff, delivery, and long-term follow-up.

This is a performance-driven position. Success is measured in gross profit, units sold, and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores. Every customer interaction is an opportunity to build a long-term relationship that generates repeat and referral business for the dealership.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this role means every customer leaves the dealership with confidence in their purchase, their salesperson, and their decision to do business with Step One.

The Salesperson will:

  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly unit sales and gross profit targets
  • Deliver a best-in-class customer experience from first contact through post-delivery follow-up
  • Maintain a high CSI score that reflects genuine customer satisfaction at every touchpoint
  • Build a personal prospect and owner follow-up system that drives repeat and referral business
  • Complete all required OEM and SOAG training monthly, earning and maintaining manufacturer certifications
  • Execute every deal with accuracy — proper paperwork, finance handoff, delivery, and title processing
