Job Purpose

Astound Digital is looking for a Salesforce B2B Technical Architect to join our growing Commerce Practice. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about designing scalable enterprise Salesforce solutions while mentoring teams and guiding clients through digital transformation.

As a Technical Architect, you will lead end-to-end technical engagements — from solution design to implementation — ensuring delivery excellence, innovation, and alignment with client business goals. You’ll also play a key role in shaping technical standards, fostering team growth, and driving pre-sales activities to support new business pursuits.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of Salesforce developers and engineers, providing technical direction, code reviews, and mentorship to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Drive Project Success: Own the technical vision and solution architecture for Salesforce B2B Commerce and multi-cloud implementations.
  • Partner with Clients: Lead technical discussions, workshops, and presentations with client stakeholders to define requirements and demonstrate Astound’s Salesforce capabilities.
  • Support Pre-Sales Efforts: Collaborate on RFP responses, solution estimates, demos, and technical presentations that highlight our value and expertise.
  • Innovate and Improve: Stay ahead of Salesforce product updates and industry trends to identify opportunities for process optimization, reusable solutions, and accelerators.
  • Ensure Quality and Scalability: Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices, robust architecture, and efficient performance across projects.
    Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with delivery leads, project managers, and business consultants to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years leading Salesforce Core and B2B Commerce (or related cloud) implementations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring development teams on complex, multi-cloud Salesforce projects.
  • Hands-on expertise in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Aura Components, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce APIs (REST, Bulk, Streaming) and Salesforce data tools.
  • Experience in pre-sales activities such as estimating, scoping, and solution documentation.
  • Strong command of Salesforce SDLC, DevOps, and integration best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and business audiences.

Good to have:

  • Software architecture design using object-oriented and modularity principles;
  • Experience with working on complex functional software projects that require a deep understanding of the application logic and dependencies;
  • Technical documentation writing skills;
  • Design patterns knowledge and experience;
  • Basic knowledge of project management;
  • Experience with interviewing and on-boarding of engineers;
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
