Salesforce Administrator owns the administration, configuration, and governance of a business-critical SaaS platform used across Sales, Delivery, Engineering, and Operations. This role ensures secure access, optimized workflows, system stability, and scalable adoption of Salesforce across the organization.
Salesforce Administrator acts as a strategic support to business stakeholders, helping manage, optimize, and scale Salesforce environments while maintaining system integrity, security, and performance as business needs evolve.
II. Primary Responsibilities
Salesforce Administration & Configuration
- Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable operation.
- Manage user access, roles, profiles, permission sets, and license allocation to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
- Configure and maintain custom and standard objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, and Lightning Experience enhancements.
- Administer Salesforce releases, including feature evaluation, sandbox testing, and production deployments.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation using:
- Salesforce Flow (Screen, Record-Triggered, Scheduled)
- Approval Processes
- Validation Rules
- Replace legacy Workflow Rules and Process Builder with modern Flow-based solutions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline business processes and improve user efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity through:
- Data imports and exports
- Deduplication rules and strategies
- Ongoing data validation and cleansing
- Create and maintain standard and custom reports and executive dashboards.
- Support accurate data migration and enforce ongoing data governance standards.
- Ensure all platform changes follow a documented Sandbox-to-Production lifecycle with approvals.
- Maintain configuration documentation and release coordination.
- Ensure Salesforce and related SaaS platforms are audit-ready with proper controls, logs, and access reviews.
- Oversee and support integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, DocuSign, etc.).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain API integrations and data syncs.
- Manage AppExchange packages, including upgrades, permissions, and license usage.
- Conduct regular reviews to identify inactive users and underutilized licenses.
- Reassign licenses and recommend cost-saving strategies to reduce spend.
- Provide day to day user support for Salesforce-related issues and enhancement requests.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with Salesforce Support when required.
- Deliver user training, create documentation, and promote Salesforce best practices.
- Drive user adoption through continuous improvement and feedback loops.
- Act as a liaison between business teams and IT for system enhancements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Partner with Salesforce Developers, Architects, and external vendors on enhancements and integrations.
- Maintain data security, access controls, and system health.
- Perform regular security reviews and compliance checks.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or a related field
- 4 to 7 years of experience as Salesforce Administrator and Atlassian tools
- Certifications:
- Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) – recommended/ preferred
- Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Sales Cloud Consultant
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data model and relational concepts
- Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud
- Salesforce configuration: objects, flows, security model (Profiles, Permission Sets)
- Flow Builder, sandboxes, change sets, and deployment tools
- Salesforce DevOps tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado)
- Basic Apex, SOQL, and Salesforce integrations
- Experience managing SaaS integrations and APIs
- SaaS user management, access control, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with SOC 2, IT governance, and compliance concepts
- Ability to balance business needs with security and governance
- Documentation and stakeholder communication
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Experience working in remote or distributed IT environments
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Good communication skills and customer-service mindset
