Job summary
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Hybrid Cloud Solutions focused Software Sales Specialist to join us in southern California or Arizona as part of the North American Commercial Sales team. In this role, you will manage the adoption of Red Hat's cloud and application services solutions and own the overall outcome for cloud platform product and services sales, collaborating closely within a matrixed sales organization. Your tasks will include creating sales opportunities in new and existing customer accounts through well-planned demand generation efforts. You'll enable Red Hat's customers to define, develop, and deploy modern management strategies by collaborating with account executives, solution architects, and our partner ecosystem. You will also produce success stories about key strategic projects that will be referenced internally throughout Red Hat. This is a senior level sales position. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Work within the sales teams to plan the overall cloud and multi-cloud strategy within a defined set of accounts
  • Guide the customer in the adoption of virtualization, container-based, private, hybrid, and public cloud using Red Hat solutions
  • Sell Red Hat cloud solutions portfolio by scoping, defining, and acquiring new business opportunities
  • Gain the trust of senior IT, lines of business (LOB), and business executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships resulting in customers becoming public references
  • Ability to lead a consultative sales cycle, based on solutions selling, which includes the whole of Red Hat's portfolio rather than specific offerings
  • Build growth go-to-market strategies including partner and solution ecosystem
  • Meet sales expectations and set high standards for the communication and presentation of key messages to C-level executives, both internally and externally


Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in a solutions sales role focused on strategic and enterprise level accounts with a balance of strategic and tactical skills, as well as creative thinking skills
  • Excellent solutions and technical knowledge; ability to understand customer business issues and technology requirements
  • Broad technical experience with enterprise cloud infrastructure technologies
  • Understand business value of automation and storage solutions
  • Ability to collaborate with Consulting and Training Services on large projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms
  • Ability to sell solutions in a multi-product environment
  • Ability to work well in a matrixed selling environment
  • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
  • Ability to collaborate with Consulting and Training Services on large projects
