About the job
The Red Hat Public Sector Sales organization is looking for a Senior Manager of business development to join our team in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will lead a team of business development professionals in promoting the success of a multi-offering go-to-market strategy for Red Hat. You'll identify key system integrators (SIs) in your region and develop partnerships through programs within the government and their infrastructure that promotes the sales of our services and solutions. As a Senior Manager, you'll provide leadership and advice in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives. You'll need to be able to define vision, strategies, and tactics. You'll also select, develop, and evaluate associates to ensure an effective operation and successful sales team.
What you will do

  • Develop, coach, and mentor the business development team to build pipeline, capture large programs, and grow and promote effective sales strategies
  • Motivate and inspire the team while as Red Hat gains market share in public sector markets
  • Guide the sales team to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and growth targets by establishing sales goals and monitoring achievement
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other members of Business Development Management (BDM) Leadership team and contribute to the strategic and tactical success of Red Hat's public sector business
  • Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally with software sales representatives, technical associates, and direct sales leadership
  • Provide guidance, frameworks, and direction for resources, solutioning and probability of win (PWin) analysis on multiple large deal-capture efforts


What you will bring

  • 10+ years of related business development experience in the public sector and federal SI community
  • Demonstrated ability to use personal knowledge, processes, and solutions selling strategies and methodologies to meet revenue growth objectives
  • Proven leadership skills with a record of leading virtual teams and delivering results
  • Understanding and proven practical application of SI capture processes
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; presentation skills
  • Good planning and analytical skills with a proven ability to apply these skills to complex situations with multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet expectations
  • Highly cooperative work style with proven ability to gather consensus and take decisive and timely action
  • Thorough understanding of federal contracts and regulations
