Job summary
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Specialist 5 to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting the sharing and adoption of contemporary Red Hat Cloud and Middleware technology by working with Red Hat's largest enterprise accounts to allow customers to define, develop, and deploy their modern middleware strategies.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Build strategic relationships with executives and key business leaders, and endorse Red Hat's portfolio of cloud and middleware solutions including application development, application and service hosting, mobile, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), business rules management, business process management (BPM), content aggregation, data federation, and service integration on-site or in the cloud
  • Guide customers from their initial adoption of basic application server technology and grow the account to include rules engines, BPM platforms, enterprise service bus (ESB), container platforms, and enterprise automation solutions
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrations, highlighting key technical capabilities and business value
  • Support and mentor sales teams to position and differentiate Red Hat's Emerging Technology portfolio
  • Coordinate with customer contacts for solution demonstrations, evaluations, and proof of concepts (PoCs)
  • Provide strategic guidance and expertise on products and solutions that potentially lower costs and increase efficiency
  • Assist sales teams in creating and presenting product quotes and service pricing for customers, and hold customer discussions on product pricing and availability
  • Advise on technical support options for customers and non-technical services including people and process transformation


Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer
  • engineering, or related and 8+ years of experience in the job offered or related role
  • 5+ years of experience with: technical sales in enterprise software solutions, including product demonstrations, customer proof of concepts (POCs) and installing evaluation copies of software to support customer needs; and global and cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience with PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • 2+ years of experience developing customer relationships at engineering, commercial,
  • and executive levels
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with ecosystem technologies including Kubernetes and Linux or UNIX-like operating systems; and enterprise automation solutions
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time; travel expenses covered by Red Hat, Inc.
