We are looking for a Sales Development Manager to work with our newly formed Nucleic Acid Therapeutics team.

What you'll do

  • The Sales Development Manager, Nucleic Acid Therapeutics (herewith SDM NAT) is responsible for achievement of NAT sales targets with strong prospecting skills in a direct sales role. This role directly contributes to grow NAT revenue and increase market share.
  • This role is responsible for generating business opportunities at all key NAT customer sites in collaboration with the BioPharma sales organization, encompassing the terms of the BioProcess portfolio to propose end-to-end solutions.
  • The incumbent will act as a NAT subject matter expert from technical to business aspects. Develop a deep technical expertise of process challenges across the entire workflow of NAT with key expertise in mRNA and variants of mRNA.
  • With a deep understanding of NAT manufacturing and development, the incumbent will respond to customers' technical/ process questions to successfully generate and close opportunities.
  • As a NAT subject matter expert, the incumbent will train, support, and educate the BioPharma Account Managers and Sales Specialists on the business and technical aspects of the NAT market segment.
  • The role-holder will operate in a matrix structure and collaborate with the existing teams who deal with the customer and ensure that good communication systems and processes are created with Account Managers and other Sales Specialists.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Zone Leaders, Account Managers, Sales Specialists and Field Application Specialists to support sales goals and advocate for the NAT business.
  • Establish regular communications with product management teams across global locations to convey VOC- including unmet needs, product performance and relevant market trends.
  • Analyze and articulate customer and market needs, prospecting all categories of NAT customers from translational discovery, PD to manufacturing including CMOs, developing deep relationships with key customers and managing opportunities in collaboration with the sales organization to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Consult and gain credibility with customers on the appropriate solutions to propose when moving between research through clinical to marketed applications
  • Grow revenue across all Cytiva modalities including filtration, purification, SUT, formulation and appropriate portfolios.
  • Develop, write and implement customer focused sales and business plans based on market knowledge and overall business performance criteria. These plans will include strategic directions and goals established locally, as well as those established jointly with the regional management team.
  • Drive account planning to successfully prospect NAT customers, gather and synthesize account information using multiple sources of information including analytical tools such as SFDC and Qlik, communicate to the respective Sales Specialists/ Account Managers and translate into action plan.
  • Prepare and present sales projections and forecasts of sales within the defined area, including budget planning for the following fiscal year. Create accurate reports of existing business and maintain an accurate forecast of short-term business opportunities.
  • Maintain and capture NAT related business metrics and report on a regular basis to the regional commercial leadership teams. Ensure high quality of data to support commercial and market insights
  • Actively participate to regional conferences, trade associations, etc with the ability act as a spokesperson or SME where appropriate at such events
  • This role requires frequent regional travels (about 50% but depending on location). Occasional international travel may also be required.


Who you are

  • Domain expertise gained through a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with min. 8 years of relevant experience; PhD with min. 4 years of relevant experience in Biomanufacturing/ related Life Sciences field with direct linkage to Nucleic Acid Therapeutic market or manufacturing
  • Demonstrated track record in Executive/ C-suite level presentations, executive level communication skills Ability to discuss technology innovation at an appropriate scientific level from PhD development scientists to CEO
  • Data driven approach to segment decision making, track record of developing business cases or strategic proposals
  • Innovation - develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas
