The Opportunity

As the Regional VP of Sales, you will manage a book of highly engaged enterprise companies that commit to bringing peace of mind to the renters and owners they represent. You will be responsible for building excellent relationships with organizations that have large-scale, multi-market portfolios that are looking to reduce bad debt, increase occupancy and give more opportunities to renters through close account management and ongoing client engagement strategies. At a national level, you will represent TheGuarantors at trade shows, speaking engagements, and panels regarding lower barriers to entry and more efficient mitigators in the multi-family real estate space.

What You Will Do

  • Within the first 12 months, establish relationships with NMHC Top 50 property managers or owners
  • Nurture partners through various stages of engagement and partnerships
  • Grow existing Top 50 relationships through tactical, well-structured account management
  • Engage property management executives at the nation's leading companies
  • Uncover new opportunities by taking a consultative approach to investigating a company's needs and goals.
  • Foster accounts that deliver profitable applicant referrals through a clear explanation of underwriting constraints and conscientious coverage levels.
  • Drive key partners and prospects to participate in a variety of events by collaborating closely with Marketing and the VP of Growth.
  • Forecast and align with quarterly goals and OKRs by closely monitoring individual and account metrics/performance in collaboration with the VP of Growth
  • Track data and conversion rates to understand trends by program, market, portfolio, etc.
  • Attend industry events
  • Assist Marketing with event planning such as booth design, giveaways, breakout networking opportunities and speaking engagements.
  • Quarterback territory AEs to carry out the program plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all Sales activity in CRM
  • Travel regularly - at least one week every month on the road meeting potential and current partners. Please note that this may change according to travel restrictions.

  • Ability to understand and navigate regular program changes to clients
  • Ability to bring multiyear industry relationships to whatever role you take in multifamily real estate
  • 10+ years of experience in the multifamily real estate space
  • Experience with account management best practices
  • Experience as a stellar relationship manager
  • Experience with HubSpot or CRMs
  • Experience in startup environment(s)
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Track record of building excellent relationships with renters, property operations and C-Level decision-makers and professionals in the multi-family industry

What's something quirky about your company?

I love the non-work slack channels we have and use. During the Euro Cup, we had a bunch of our team members slacking back and forth about the games and it really helped me feel like we were hanging out together at a bar after work!

What projects are you most excited about?

Creating machine learning models to predict default risk and price insurance policies more accurately. With our models, we achieve better underwriting outcomes, especially with customers who don't have a traditional credit history, for example, younger or underbanked renters. It is one of our key competitive advantages, and we are very proud of it.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

My career at TG has been exciting! I joined the IT & Business Ops team part-time in January 2020. As TG shifted to a WFH model during the pandemic, I was able to show my value quickly. I tackled new problems every day, but this led to a FT position. 1.5 years later, I kept gaining new responsibilities and was promoted to a Lead!
