The Red Hat Cloud Ecosystem Partner Management team within the newly created Partner Development organization is looking for a Principal Cloud Ecosystem Partner Manager to join us to work directly with partners to grow the Red Hat Ecosystem. In this role, you will join a dynamic and highly technical team to represent Red Hat by engaging with various strategic technology partners to help ensure that their software applications are aligned to Red Hat product portfolio offerings. As a Principal Cloud Ecosystem Partner Manager, you will work directly with the partners' product management and engineering team leads to plan technical objectives, identify, and align the resources needed to achieve targeted goals. You'll also work closely with the Red Hat Ecosystem Business Development Managers, Certification, and Technical Product Managers to help plan and achieve the strategic objectives provided by senior leadership within the ecosystem partner organization. Ecosystem Partner Management comprises a diverse team from different technical backgrounds. To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid record in technical support, technical account management or professional services, and be looking to apply your technical skills in exciting, new directions. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Assist partners in understanding the Red Hat partner program and certification requirements
  • Host engineering activities between the Red Hat engineers and partner engineers to assist in overcoming technical blockers
  • Track all feature requests, bugs, and certification activities
  • Organize and guide quarterly partner technical review forums and planning sessions
  • Work closely with Red Hat technical teams to learn and assist partners with their technical questions
  • Manage and help resolve technical escalations together with various Red Hat product and engineering teams
  • Review learning collateral for partner journey applicability
  • Assist Red Hat Support in customer-to-partner escalation
  • Contribute to documentation intended to help partners help themselves
  • Create and host presentations on varying technical topics that are applicable to partners
  • Attend and represent Red Hat at industry and partner conferences and events


What you will bring

  • In-depth knowledge of the major public cloud offerings, like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM Cloud, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system and comfortable working with command line
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments (Outpost, Azure Stack, Anthos), customer workload migrations, and challenges
  • Understanding of GitHub, Jira, and other modern development tools
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable with speaking with partner personnel at all levels
  • Motivated and ability to learn quickly, with excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to assess partner requests while taking into account Red Hat's goals, requirements, and strategic directions
  • Willingness to develop leadership skills by working with and guiding cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, supportive, and fun environment
  • Desire to learn and take your skills to the next level


The following will be considered a plus:

  • Previous experience at or with a public cloud vendor as technical support engineer or a technical account manager
  • Experience with the open source (upstream) development model
  • Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of hardware topologies and complex enterprise and cloud configurations
