The National Business Development Director is responsible for hiring and leading the Business Development Representatives (BDRs) at National level as HeartFlow grows in our commercial footprint. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales and works closely with the Area Sales Directors to drive and support the BDRs success with existing and new customers using the HeartFlow’s non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic technology. Successful candidate must work cross-functionally with Engineering, DSMs, Marketing, Market Access, CT Apps, Product Development, and Clinical on a day-to-day basis to ensure project alignment and customer success. Expect approximately 80% travel from a home office.

 

The HeartFlow analysis is a first-of-its-kind noninvasive technology that helps clinicians diagnose and treat patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with BDRs to identify key strategic HeartFlow accounts to drive growth and adoption of a cCTA and FFRct clinical pathway. Will implement strategic goals for the BDRs to develop and execute business development plans working closely with the account’s key stakeholders.
  • Create and execute strategic vision for the go-to-market efforts to drive market adoption for HeartFlow’s products in the North America market.
  • Will regularly develop volume and revenue forecast for the BDRs market alongside the Vice President of Sales, North America.
  • Field Leadership: Hire, train and manage the Business Development Representatives to meet revenue and customer retention goals.
  • Go To Market strategy: Collaborate with Commercial Leadership to develop detailed plans for market-entry and penetration in your assigned geography.
  • Market Forecasts: Develop volume/revenue forecasts for HeartFlow products in the BDR assigned area markets through participation and leadership in our forecasting roll up calls. The forecasting activity will also require in depth use of Salesforce.com applications and Miller Heiman sales strategy methodology.
  • Voice of Customer and Market Research: Gather deep “voice of customer” input to guide product development and market strategy. The National BD Director will be expected to develop extremely deep relationships with key customers throughout the area.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Build plans and monitor progress of the Production/Success/Achievement for the Business Development Representative performance in active/targeted accounts(metrics): 1) Meet / exceed quota for the strategic HeartFlow accounts (within existing customer locations); 2) cCTA growth (conversion of non-invasive tests) and FFRct penetration /case growth over baseline (% and $) in assigned accounts.

Skills Needed:

  • Prior experience successfully leading a team and complex projects
  • Strong leadership skills, which include: the ability to influence and coach, executive presence, multitask, with a balance of information sharing and trust
  • Deep understanding of hospital economics, radiology and cardiovascular disease and relationships with practitioners in your assigned area.
  • Knowledge/experience in physician education regarding new technologies.
  • Knowledge/experience creating tactical sales plans for segmentation and anticipated adoption of HeartFlow technologies.
  • Experience and high comfort level engaging with hospitals and executives of all levels.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience with developing high performing cross functional teams and driving change.
  • Ability to listen effectively, synthesize and translate information to audiences with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Able to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances, and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence change within large organizations
  • Ability to build connections and establish credibility quickly with key stakeholders. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining lasting and deep internal and customer relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced adaptive environment; self-starter and strong team player required.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

  • BA Degree, MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in diagnostic or therapeutic healthcare business, in roles involving Marketing, Medical Education, Business Development, and Sales Leadership.
