Job Responsibilities

Viasat is a leader in providing practical solutions for difficult communications problems. The Antenna Systems group, located in Duluth, GA, is a world leader in GEO, MEO and LEO satellite ground systems, providing terminals, modems and data management products and services worldwide. Our ground antenna products and services are used in Broadband satellite communications, resource monitoring and earth observation applications by both commercial and foreign government customers in a variety of worldwide applications.

If you are a Business Development professional with 8+ years' experience in the satellite communications field and are interested in expanding your career, then perhaps Viasat is the right company for you. As a Business Development Director, you will seek out new business opportunities and increase market share by developing relationships with both new and existing customers, developing sales strategies and submitting proposals to win targeted opportunities. Some of the exciting markets you may support include the Middle East, Europe, and Asia (depending on experience and interest). This position will be based out of our Duluth, GA facility, but we are open to someone working remotely, or based at any of our U.S. Viasat offices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years working as a business development professional in a satellite communications company, preferably serving Europe and South America
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, wireless, software, or other related field), or equivalent experience.
  • A technical understanding of satellite communications and RF technology
  • The ability to understand customers' complex requirements and effectively offer feasible solutions
  • The ability to define business models/cases for new product and service sales
  • The ability to prepare presentations and supporting materials for both customers' and internal business reviews
  • The ability to travel up to 50% to worldwide locations for up to a week at a time.
  • If the Federal Executive Order for Government Contractors becomes effective, this role may require vaccination. In such instance, absent an approved accommodation based on a religious or medical reason, employees in this role will be required to be fully vaccinated no later than applicable deadlines, which are unknown at this point. Viasat will strive to give individuals as much notice as practicable if a vaccine mandate becomes applicable to this role.

The starting salary for this position is $136,225 annually, but an offered salary may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. This position may also be eligible for other cash or stock incentives, including Viasat's Employee Stock Purchase Program, which allows Viasat employees to purchase Viasat stock at a discount.
