We are seeking an Account Executive to join our federal team supporting our West Region. Primary customers will be military sites and other U.S. Federal Government customers in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona. The largest customer base supported is in the Southern California area. Primarily works with established accounts to be a strategic resource and partner to help them achieve desired solutions and business expansion within these accounts.

We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.

Location: Remote / Virtual (Work from home) with the ability to travel up to 50%. Preferably based within the West Region and specified territory (CA, OR, WA, NV, AZ, etc).

As an Account Executive, you will:

  • Responsible for the sale of building technology solutions and service offerings to U.S. Federal Government customers within our West region
  • Creates high value infrastructure solutions that utilize building technology offerings; HVAC, building automation, electronic security, fire alarm and suppression, distributed energy generation and storage, and cybersecurity
  • Consults on technical solutions that improve building environments, reduce energy and lifecycle costs, increase energy resiliency, and otherwise enhances mission assurance
  • Uses account management disciplines to understand customers goals, and to build and manage long term customer relationships within key and target accounts
  • Addresses customer's operational and environmental objectives by recommending and delivering comprehensive and innovative solutions
  • Develops medium-to-large, complex modernization projects and preventative maintenance service agreements within assigned accounts. Focuses on improving the existing facilities to achieve agency objectives.
  • Develops budgets and pricing and helps customer quantify the business case to secure budget approval. Educates customers on Federal or agency-specific funding programs or IDIQ contract vehicles that may support their goals.
  • Creates competitive, high quality and timely estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Effectively writes and presents proposals.
  • Executes the sales process to cultivate, qualify and close new sales opportunities. Manages the high activity of the pipeline in CRM tools with a focus on sales phase, close date, and probability of a close
  • Builds and maintains thorough account relationships coupled with strategic account planning to methodically and reliably achieve business expansion within accounts
  • Collaborates with and supports JCFS' operations teams in the development and delivery of projects to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Actively participates in professional organizations, conferences, expert panels, and other industry events to demonstrate innovation and thought leadership


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive field sales experience
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in energy management, HVAC systems, building automation, SCADA, microgrids, fire alarm & protection, and/or electronic security systems
  • Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business. Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills; both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence account decision makers at key levels, preferably at the C and D levels
  • Proficiency with U.S. Federal Government agency budgeting and contracting (acquisition) processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Outlook, and general Windows environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
  • Ability to travel within the region up to 50%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years sales experience focused on building technologies or services


Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline. MBA preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification & LEED AP accreditations
