Purpose
This position is responsible for leadership of the Cox Business Sales Support teams. This leadership role provides guidance and direction for the follow Sales Support teams: sales engineering, solution design consultants, customer service management, sales coordinators, and building access management. These sales support teams provide the sales teams within each market they operate in, with direct customer interaction to help drive sales and retaining customers by making sure each customer they engage with has a positive experience with the Cox Business products and services they use.
The Director of Sales Support will collaborate with their peers, market leaders, and Atlanta center leadership to develop sales operations reporting and analysis to make sure each Sales Support team is driving the correct behavior to help each sale team grow market revenue. The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-directed leader, able to work in a high-intensity, high-profile environment, an experienced innovator and change agent, equally comfortable and effective in executive-level and customer-facing capacities. The position works in an office setting with travel requirements for customer visits, local CB market engagement, and local events. The role is part of a budget-driven, field organization; pressure to meet ambitious sales goals and will involve significant people management and high complexity. Use of personal or company car to travel occasionally to customers' locations within the system is an expectation of the role. The position requires travel 50% of the time and a willingness to support multiple Cox Business locations. Additionally, the position requires the ability to manage teams virtually, support Sales leadership virtually, and provide leadership across multiple Cox markets.
Major Tasks

  • Provides both leadership and tactical support in pursuit of serving CB customers, including customer support management (SM & CSM), sales coordination, sales engineering, solution design consultants, and building access management.
  • Delivers effective billing management, collaborating with Cox Business billing teams, credit and collections teams, revenue assurance and achievement groups, finance on special pricing, bids and requests for proposal organization to support customer requirements.
  • Contributes to sales budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning to increase market share
  • Initiates and maintains standard operating procedures to ensure a quality customer experience for all customer tiers and segments.
  • Analyzes business and resource requirements, metrics, discounts, churn, sales, and revenue attainment and ensures operational goals tied to strategic business short- and long-term objectives.
  • Leads change and facilitates environment of continuous process improvement, recommends changes to workflows and processes, establishes, and implements technical and operational performance standards.
  • Collaborates closely with Sales, Field Service, Network Operations, and Finance leaders to identify capital requisites and constraints to support region objectives.
  • Ensures organization is in alignment with company and region-specific policies and procedures, including compliance with all federal, state, and local commission and agency rules and regulations. Collaborates with Legal & Regulatory to establish standard contract terms, integrate pricing and terms and conditions, remains current on changes to contract regulations and procedures, provides and completes training as required.
  • Presents information and provides analysis to advise and support decision making for Vice President of Cox Business on strategic business development, acquisition, planning, market opportunities and threats.
  • Remains current on existing products, new product development, technical information, methods and procedures, continuous process improvement and the competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrates enterprise wide thinking by collaborating across regions on special projects, strategic business planning and initiatives, and implementing best practices to drive performance to meet or exceed customer and business expectations.
  • Develops tactical plans for base protection, competitive threats, growth, and market development.
  • Communicate customer concerns, sales opportunities, implementations, and related issues within the team, across the system, and with corporate/regional staffs. Recommends and coordinates implementation of solutions with various Cox organizations.
  • Develops appropriate tracking metrics and provides regular reports on the performance of the organization.
  • Develops, builds, and manages relationships with Atlanta Center leaders and regional peers.
  • Develops self and others, models accountability, provides guidance, sets performance goals and expectations for the department, manages performance, provides training and development opportunities.


Qualifications Required

  • BA/BS degree 10 + years of experience in related field (i.e. Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, etc) with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • OR MS + 8 years experience
  • OR Ph.D. + 5 years experience
  • OR 14 years with no education degree
  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams throughout organization.
  • An independent leader with the ability to develop and lead a high-performing team of professionals.
  • Strong financial business acumen. Excellent analytical skills, including database and/or statistical modeling experience
  • Quantifiable accomplishments in development and attainment of aggressive retention/sales goals
  • Thorough knowledge and background in Sales Support programs, demonstrated success in translating marketing plans into effective sales strategies in competitive industry


Preferred

  • Prior experience in supporting Sales preferred
  • Prior Telecommunications industry experience preferred.
