Responsibilities & Requirements
NGP VAN is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our team as a Director of Political Crossover Sales. NGP VAN employees are widely recognized as the geeks that provide the competitive advantage to Democrats and progressive organizations. We've been committed to building tools to advance the Democratic cause for over 20 years, becoming the industry standard for successful campaigns up and down the ballot. Much of our team is made up of former organizers, digital directors and fundraisers who genuinely care about Democratic campaigns and ensuring their success.
Day to Day:
As a Director of Sales, you will be based in our DC office and report to NGP VAN's Senior Vice President of Sales. In this role, you will oversee a growing team of Account Executives and be responsible for leading them to achieve quota. You will oversee the training programs for new hires, ensuring their ability to meet milestones in a timely manner.
Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of the SaaS (software as a service) industry, and more specifically in becoming an expert in the NGP VAN Platform
  • A strong interest or understanding of the political market, including unions, ballot measures & PACs and how they work internally and externally across the progressive ecosystem
  • Driven to create new relationships outside of our current client network
  • Client focused and highly organized
  • Comfortable learning and using sales platforms such as Salesforce, SalesLoft, and Gong to track and manage all account and opportunity activity
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills; particularly the ability to craft effective prospecting messaging, proposals and deliver engaging presentations
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to meet individual goals while supporting and guiding team members to success
  • Collaborative nature that works with colleagues to solve problems and advance the salesteam goals on a larger scale
