Are you ready?

Segra is searching for a Director, Business Development to work in our Charlotte, NC office and leaddevelopment and consulting efforts, enabling sales to win strategic deals. This position will be successful by strategically coordinating efforts between sales, operations, engineering, finance, legal, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sponsorship sales, business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit and a solution-based sales approach. The ideal candidate will have a team-oriented mindset, strong technical and financial acumen, an openness to thinking differently and a desire to win. The Director of Business Development will also need to possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive internal and external projects.

The Director of Business Development will evaluate opportunities by matching market needs to business value, and work with multiple partners across the organization. This position will report directly to Segra's Chief Operating Officer.
The successful candidate will be able to think strategically and will have a proven track record of being able to guide teams to execute efficiently. An ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changingneeds is also crucial. The Director of Business Development will model a Customer-First mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities

- - Lead a small Business Development team, and personally contribute to the success of that team;
- Prepare detailed business cases for justification of new opportunities;
- Will be expected to understand and converse about technical concepts of underlying technologies of Segra Architecture and Product Offerings;
- Will take a creative approach to problem solving to allow for Sales Success while maintaining integrity of what is achievable within the Segra architecture and product offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bac- Bachelor's degree or higher;

- - 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business development in telecom or tech service industry;

- - Proven experience presenting proposals and negotiating with partners, vendors or customers, particularly with complex contracts and negotiations;

- - Experience developing and maturing a team, as well as team building and collaboration skills;

- - Demonstrated experience drafting proposal responses and negotiating contracts or programs;

- - Ability to balance strategy and execution, with excellent critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to successfully navigate ambiguous situations;

- - Will be comfortable with technical details and capable of having credible conversations with engineers about design trade-offs;

- - Experience working in or dealing with an engineering focused company preferred;

- - Experience working or dealing with vendors, technical leaders, lawyers, government agencies, or officials preferred;

- - Applicable business and technology certifications preferred;

- - Experience with product and design solutions collaborating with telecommunication carriers, enterprises and government agency customers preferred.
