About the job
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Civilian Sales Representative to join our Public Sector team in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will primarily sell to civilian financial agencies. You'll expand Red Hat's existing customer base, sell consulting services to encourage the fast adoption of Red Hat's core solutions, and cross-sell all Red Hat's offerings. You'll work closely with individual product engineering, professional services, and product support teams to ensure an excellent customer experience with Red Hat's offerings.
What you will do

  • Sell the complete Red Hat solutions portfolio, including professional services
  • Work closely with account solutions architects to identify key projects, programs, and offices to sell Red Hat's solutions
  • Advise senior IT and C-level executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships with customers
  • Manage a complex sales cycle from prospecting to closing; maintain sustainable revenue across technologies
  • Develop new solutions strategies within key accounts to establish proofs of concepts and guide implementations of Red Hat's solutions
  • Manage the account planning process and delivery of strategic plans


What you will bring

  • 8+ years of solutions sales experience, with 5+ years focused on selling directly to the U.S. federal government
  • Solid understanding of the open source model, DevSecOps, and digital transformation
  • Experience working in a consultative customer engagement with a major enterprise software company or in the sales division of an enterprise software reseller
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including experience presenting to C-level executives at large companies
  • Broad understanding of the government acquisition process within the civilian government
  • Ability to maintain a sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and solutions
