About the job
The Red Hat Training team is looking for a Business Development Manager to join the Public Sector Customer Success Organization in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will acquire new business, grow existing relationships with customers, and help increase training bookings and revenue quotas within the Public Sector, specifically focused on Federal. You'll upsell courses and certifications to your existing customer base, as well as identify and generate new on-site training and Red Hat Learning Subscriptions (RHLS) business.
What you will do

  • Manage the training business in a specific territory from beginning to end
  • Work with account managers to identify, define, and create corporate training plans
  • Follow leads actively to identify and close training bookings
  • Provide follow-up activities to support the team's marketing campaigns
  • Define subscription opportunities in Salesforce.com and attach training units to large opportunities when possible
  • Develop and refine training sales best practices


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the IT industry, with a proven record of achievement
  • Understanding of solution-selling methodologies
  • Ability to engage management decision makers and influencers at all levels
  • Familiarity with sales channels and routes-to-market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with public sector; federal is a plus
