Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Increase sales volumes, achieve, and possibly overachieve the sales targets on his/her territory in respect of PKI strategy.
  • Sell the company’s products or services directly to end-users.
  • Provides quality service to PerkinElmer’s internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding PerkinElmer’s Values at all times
  • Develop and maintain territory coverage plan with designated territory team.
  • Sell the company’s products or services directly to end-users.
  • Reviews his own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Attend team meetings and share best practice with colleagues.
  • Provides quality service to PerkinElmer’s internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while always upholding PerkinElmer’s Values
  • Achieves assigned sales quotas by maximizing promotion and sales activity of PerkinElmer’s products.
  • Consultative sales and promotion of products within customer segments in assigned territory.
  • Develops and maintains territory coverage plan with designated territory.
  • Set targets and review for all direct reporters in consultation with DGM Sales.
  • Succession planning of directs.
  • Communicate regularly with all members of assigned territory team.
  • Market development activities: Focus on development and maintenance of key accounts, regional reference sites
  • Frequents market feedback on products, competition and market conditions in Product Marketing
  • Develops and maintains territory specific information relative to competitors and distributors in the market mix.
  • Active probes for all PerkinElmer’s products and refer leads to the appropriate sales representative.
  • Generates ideas that contribute to territory, business unit, company mission and profitability.
  • Close sales opportunities and regularly updating Sales Force Dot Com.
  • Develops and implements the business plan in region.

Basic Qualifications

Education: Any graduate/postgraduate preferably Science

Required work experience related to position: 5-10 years.

Competency Required:

Financial Acumen

  • Accurate forecasting capability
  • Develops a strong, realistic sales pipeline.
  • Supports business development deals (deal model, diligence, integration, etc.)
  • Lead an indirect spending initiative.

Market Focus

  • Deep market knowledge in specific areas
  • Strong PKI product/application knowledge
  • Help prepare competitive analysis & strategies.
  • Manages sales function/process.
  • Build strong relationships with customers.

Business Planning

  • Present plans/results to BE Leadership
  • Provides accurate sales forecasts.
  • Effectively manages key projects.
  • Executes key projects for sales function.
  • Works on sales force effectiveness projects

Preferred Characteristics

  • Strong closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus.
  • Organizational skills for proper territory planning/management.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare, and environmental market segments within assigned territory.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in prior sales position.
  • Excellent oral, written and telephone skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of word processing applications and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
  • Hardworking, persistent, and dependable.
  • Positive and enthusiastic.
