Objective / Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is a pivotal role within Sim Packaging Solutions and is responsible for setting and executing sales strategies aimed at sustainable growth and profitability. This includes team leadership, customer relationship management, market analysis, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop Sales Strategies: Formulate, implement, and regularly update sales plans to achieve organizational objectives.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the annual sales budget, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Business Forecasting: Create accurate sales forecasts for senior management.
Sales Operations:
- Lead Generation: Identify and target new sales prospects.
- Customer Conversion: Convert leads into loyal customers through effective sales presentations and demonstrations.
- Sales Funnel Management: Oversee the entire sales funnel from prospecting to closing.
- Contract Negotiation: Handle contract negotiations with clients and business partners.
Team Management:
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor the sales team.
- Performance Management: Regularly evaluate the performance of sales staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Skills Development: Identify skills gaps and arrange appropriate training for the team.
Customer Management:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. ∙
- Customer Retention: Develop strategies for retaining existing customers. ∙
- Client Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services.
Market Research:
- Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends and customer preferences to identify new sales opportunities.
- Competitor Analysis: Keep an eye on competitors and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Inter-departmental Coordination: Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, and Customer Service departments.
- Inventory Management: Liaise with the Operations and Procurement teams to ensure product availability.
- Execute any other duties as may be assigned to you by the Chief Operations Officer.
- Authority and Independence:
- The Sales Manager has full authority and independence as delegated to him or her by the "Chief Operations Officer" as per the requirements, duties, and responsibility of the job.
- Working Conditions:
- The Sales Manager will work in a fast-paced office environment and will be required to be flexible on working hours to meet changing business needs.
- Physical and Mental Effort:
- The Sales Manager must be able to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize effectively. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage complex financial processes.
Education Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional sales experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the packaging or personal care industry is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Sales Manager - Growth Focus for Evaluation:
- Revenue Growth Rate: Measures the percentage increase in sales revenue compared to a previous period.
- Customer Acquisition Rate: Evaluates the number of new customers acquired within a specific time frame.
- Average Deal Size: The average revenue generated per sales transaction. An increasing average deal size often signals successful up-selling or cross-selling strategies.
- Market Share Increase: Measures the percentage of total market sales captured by Sim Packaging Solutions. An increasing market share indicates growth relative to competitors.
- Sales Funnel Conversion Rates: Analyzes the percentage of prospects that move from one stage of the sales funnel to the next, ultimately resulting in a sale. Higher conversion rates suggest a more effective sales process.
- Customer Retention Rate: Calculates the percentage of existing customers retained over a specified period. High retention rates often correlate with customer satisfaction, which can be leveraged for growth through referrals and upselling.
- Net Promoter Score (NPS): Evaluates customer loyalty and satisfaction. A high NPS can be a strong predictor of organic growth through word-of-mouth and customer referrals.
