Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Targets
• Develop & execute sales plan focusing on Trans-Pacific trade lanes (both eastbound and westbound).
• Achieve utilization volume, commercial excellence, and sales targets.
Business Development & Customer Retention
• Acquire quality clients, explore new business opportunities, and maintain and strengthen relationships with key existing accounts to enhance loyalty and market share.
• Proactively target air freight shippers and high-value cargo segments. Identify opportunities to convert them to sea freight or sea-air intermodal solutions with the company’s express products.
• Drive inbound FOB business.
Market Analysis & Pricing
• Monitor market freight rates, route dynamics, and competitor activities.
• Collaborate with trade management team and follow the company’s pricing policy.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with trade management, operations, customer service, and other departments to ensure smooth client experience and operations.
Contract/Rate Agreement Management
• Timely rates filling in service contracts / rate agreements with support from sales coordinator.
Requirements• Minimum 3-5 years in shipping / freight forwarder (Air or Ocean) – sales position.
• Solid experience in air freight (sales or product management) is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or above. Preferred: Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, Air Freight Management.
• Good understanding of Trans-Pacific routes.
• Sound knowledge of air freight rates, transit times, and high-value cargo requirements.
• Familiarity with sea-air solutions
• Strong commercial mindset to sell “cost saving but reliable” alternatives to air freight.
• Negotiation skills to handle sophisticated clients.
• Ability to work under pressure with a results-driven mindset.
• Strong data analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Skills Required
- 3-4 years of experience in shipping carrier / freight forwarding sales position
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in Transpacific / Intra-Asia / Oceania / Africa / Indian Sub-Continent trades
- Experience in data analysis using business intelligence applications
- Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese (Mandarin as an advantage)
