Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective sales strategy for the IEC61439 Tested /Licensed Panels within the specified south India and maintain it, to improve ABB’s market penetration and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.

This role is contributing to the Smart power Licensed panels business for South India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Sales & Business Growth – Define sales targets, monitor performance, identify gaps, explore new opportunities, negotiate key contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction through surveys and feedback.

  • Process & Risk Management – Develop and review sales processes, tools, and pricing strategies, while managing client financial risks, contract risks (including cybersecurity), and compliance with internal/external policies.

  • Leadership & Team Development – Build, guide, and coach effective teams, ensure organizational effectiveness, and facilitate collaboration across divisions, business areas, and functions.

  • Values, Compliance & Safety – Uphold ABB’s core values, code of conduct, and HSE standards, ensuring integrity, safety, and compliance across all teams and operations.

Qualifications for the role:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales of LT Switchgear products and systems, with extensive exposure to LT switchboards.

  • In-depth knowledge of panel builders, industrial segments, and LT panels, along with market dynamics.

  • Experienced in growing customer bases and managing accounts through strategic direct sales and cross-selling in the South India region.

  • Practical experience with Low Voltage Equipment and Electrical Distribution solutions.

  • Ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet technical and commercial requirements.

  • Proficient communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills, with a result-driven approach.

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (full-time, regular) with a consistent career track.
