The Sales Manager hires, trains and supervises members of the Sales team to achieve measurable performance goals and guest satisfaction objectives.  Responsibilities include leading, coaching & holding the sales team accountable, for supporting the company’s Vision: “Best place to work & Best place for our guests to do business” and Mission: “Build long term relationships with our associates & guests & make a positive difference in our community”. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Performance Goal setting - Assist GSM to establish measurable performance goals using gross and net profits, unit sales, etc. for monthly, quarterly, and annual targets. Work with Sales Associates to establish ambitious yet achievable, performance goals with monthly income targets.
  • Handle guest concerns/complaints and resolve as necessary while maintaining guest satisfaction
  • Establish programs that help to maximize finance and insurance penetration, and gross profits.
  • Use merchandising and displays to promote sales of New and Used vehicles. 
  • Assist GSM with Oversight & management of vehicle inventory. Ensuring that proper stocking levels are maintained, vehicle aging is minimized & inventory turn rate is maximized. 
  • Assist GSM to monitor and collect all departmental receivables (CIT, Vehicle & Factory).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, Coach, Mentor & Motivate in a way that builds a team of Champions!  
  • Train, supervise and monitor the performance of Sales Associates.
  • Recruit, interview, assist in hiring and training of new staff.
  • Oversee the daily workflow to ensure that departmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Oversee Sales Associates & provide constructive and timely performance evaluations. 
  • Assist the GSM as needed, with disciplining of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaborate with manufacturer’s representatives to develop a cohesive & mutually beneficial relationship.
  • Monitor all departmental expenses, prioritizing as follows:  #1 Variable, #2 Personnel, #3 Semi-fixed, #4 Fixed.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a minimum 2 years of leadership experience to include leading teams by coaching, mentoring, motivating, and encouraging.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer handling skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function effectively in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years related experience required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 25 pounds at times.
