Job DescriptionKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara team members always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Handles all guest inquiries.
- Conducts guest entertainment when required.
- Attends departmental, communication meetings and training sessions and operates in line with the instructions received.
- Prepares and execute sales objectives and action plans.
- Applies the sales administration guidelines.
- Is constantly updated on the economic and competitive conditions.
- Ensures guest satisfaction during functions
- Entertains guests in the hotel/conduct site inspections.
- Basic knowledge and good use of standard computer programs
- As directed, participate in promotional events within the hotel, the industry & customer organizations, in order to promote and maximize sales
- Adheres to the Hotel rules at all times.
- Flexibility in working hours as requires.
- Has full knowledge of hotels safety and emergency procedures.
Specific:
- Physical & Telephone follow-up with companies on offers forwarded in order to secure confirmation
- Formulation of offer letters.
- Ensures offer letters forwarded are up to Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort Standards
- Ensures offer letters goes out within maximum of 48 hours.
- Handles incoming calls & ensure messages are taken & details are forwarded to the person concerned
- Ensures maximum occupancy in his related hotel (s) is achieved.
- Within established parameters quotes and negotiates prices with the customer representatives.
- Achieves maximum productive sales calls daily. Up to a minimum of 5
- Once business is confirmed, the Sales Executive is to forward entire file to Groups Coordinator or Banqueting Department for them to follow-up on minor details and to action.
- Ensuring full clean file is copied to Group Coordinator/Banquet Department and should include Final and updated correspondence, Company confirmation, Billing Instruction
- Organize communication meetings with Banquets, Group manager, event Manager with regards to finalize details of all major events.
- Generates to maintains customers of defined accounts (face to face and telephone calls)
- Familiarization with Win/Win situation where the interest of client and Anantara the Palm Dubai Resort are satisfied in a business negotiation.
- Product knowledge and use of its positives to motivate a client in buying Anantara the Palm Dubai Resort services, overcoming objections
- Makes sure the job assigned to concerned department(s) is carried through professionally. Follows up when required.
- Communicates directly within the hotel(s) including the Directors of Sales in times of urgency in crucial decisions. Liaises & maintains cordial contacts with related departments specifically Reservations. And banquet sales. Keeps his superior fully informed on comments and criticism obtained from clients.
- Flexible to adapt to sudden increase in working hours if and when working demand arises.
- Acts independently in situations calling for out of ordinary, on the spur of the moment decisions & frequently comes out a winner.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in Travel Trade/Leisure sales, preferably in a 5-star hotel environment
- Hotel School Graduate or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing client portfolios
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous
