Field Engineering is part of NOV Rig Technologies, Aftermarket, and focuses on delivering upgrades to drilling rigs. NOV delivers control systems for all drilling machinery, where our Cyberbase® Chairs serve as the main operational hub. These systems require regular updates and improvements, which are programmed and implemented by our engineering staff.
As a Sales Engineer – Field Engineering, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships, responding to upgrade requests, and proactively identifying sales opportunities that bring added value to our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional technical teams to ensure tailored solutions that meet customer requirements.
The position is based at our Stavanger office, with occasional travel within Norway and internationally.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify, negotiate, and close upgrade opportunities and contracts.
- Manage the entire sales cycle—from request intake to project handover.
- Collaborate with technical disciplines to prepare and present customer-specific solutions.
- Proactively promote relevant system upgrades and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with NOV’s corporate policies and HSE guidelines.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Who are you?
- You have a minimum 1 year of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a similar customer-facing technical role.
- You have an experience working with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- You have a strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
