Purpose & Impact:

Reporting to the Director of Sales Enablement, the Sales Enablement Consultant develops and leads programs that strengthen Sales readiness, productivity and performance. You’ll own the onboarding and development experience for assigned distribution teams as well as the Enablement arm of Athene’s Retail Sales internship program, helping people build the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform successfully.
This role combines consulting, learning strategy and program leadership. You’ll partner with Sales leaders, managers and teams across Athene to identify capability gaps and turn business needs into practical, scalable solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate and influence across teams while benefiting from Athene’s scale and partnership with Apollo. Key Deliverables:

  • Own Sales onboarding and development experiences. Design and continuously improve role-specific onboarding, curricula, learning paths, assessments, reinforcement activities and manager coaching resources that strengthen readiness and accelerate time to productivity.
  • Serve as a trusted Enablement consultant. Partner with assigned distribution leaders and managers to diagnose capability gaps, apply critical thinking and recommend practical learning, process, technology or manager-led solutions connected to performance expectations.
  • Lead high-impact Enablement programs. Manage complex initiatives from strategy and design through implementation, adoption and evaluation, including recurring Sales development programs and broader initiatives such as The Athene Way.
  • Drive the Retail Sales internship Enablement experience. Partner across relevant business teams on program strategy, recruiting support, onboarding, development, evaluation and conversion planning to create a strong early-career talent experience.
  • Mobilize partners and drive execution. Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales Operations, Technology, subject-matter experts and external partners while establishing clear deliverables, timelines and quality expectations. Lead communications and change efforts while proactively managing risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Measure, innovate and continuously improve. Define success measures and use program data, participant feedback and business indicators to evaluate effectiveness. Apply industry insights, experimentation and AI-enabled tools to improve learning content and experiences, increase team efficiency and identify opportunities to reimagine how Enablement supports Sales.


What You Need to Bring:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sales enablement, learning and development, training, program management, Sales or relevant experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex learning, enablement, internship or development programs from strategy and design through implementation and evaluation, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Strong consulting, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose business and capability needs, navigate ambiguity and translate insights into practical solutions.
  • Strong project and change-management, communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and lead cross-functional work.
  • Experience developing curricula, learning paths, assessments, coaching resources or scenario-based learning and using data and feedback to measure effectiveness and improve outcomes; proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with learning-management, CRM, sales-enablement, video and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
