About the role:
The Group: Morningstar's Spain Sales Team is responsible for helping our institutional clients strengthen their businesses with the goal of providing better outcomes for investors. The group primarily serves the following client segments: Advisor, Asset Management, Wealth, Insurance and Sell-side clients.
The Role:
Morningstar`s Spain Business Development Team seeks a highly motivated person to perform a role as Sales Director, focused on growing revenue and building relationships with some of our largest clients and new prospects. The successful candidates will deepen our footprint within key market segments by focusing on growing adoption of Morningstar's extensive solution suite, including Morningstar Direct, Data, Research, ESG, Indexes and Sustainability, API's and Reporting Solutions to address the markets most pressing workflow challenges. The individual we are seeking must be a self-starter as well as a team player, knowledgeable about the fund industry and financial services sector and capable of developing and managing relationships with major financial services organizations at a decision-making level. This role covers opportunities in Spain with the position based in our Madrid office, reporting to the Head of Sales for South EMEA.

o Achieve and exceed sales targets.
o Uncover client business needs and work with internal teams to determine optimal client solutions.
o Support & Implementation for Strategic Initiative (AI - Public & Private)
o Work closely with other sales professionals, pre-sales, implementation, product development, clients and sales support teams to ensure a world-class product offering for our clients.
o Establish and build relationships with key stakeholders.
o Identify new business groups and opportunities within accounts, maintaining the existing business
o Employ winning strategies to maintain and grow adoption of Morningstar Solutions.
o Master product demonstrations and knowledge of product capabilities and benefits.
o Forecast and proactively uncover opportunities within key business groups.
o Negotiate and close new business.
o Renew existing business, aligning fees when needed.
o Develop territory and account plans for book of business.
o Responsibility for accurate reporting and timely forecasting using our CRM system, Salesforce

Requirements:
Candidates should have
o Significant Business Development and Account Management Experience from Asset Managers and/or a tier 1 vendor or data / software provider.
o Strong Asset Management, Insurance and Banking industry knowledge.
o Demonstrable track record of exceeding prior targets.
o Hands-on, organized individual who can build long-term client relationships.
o Proactive business development skills, with the ability to expand relationships within existing clients while continuously seeking and originating new opportunities.
o Strong planning and prioritization abilities, ensuring a constant balance between pipeline development and pipeline progression to maximize the likelihood of achieving quarterly objectives.
o Strong leadership, long-range planning and time-management skills are essential.
o Excellent verbal and written communication abilities (Spanish and English are strongly required, any other language it's a plus) and the ability to deliver professional and persuasive presentations.
o A consultative selling approach and the ability to understand complex investment requirements.
o An understanding of the evolving ESG and Private Markets requirements of the investment industry
o A bachelor`s degree is required; MBA or CFA are a plus.
