What You'll Do

As an SDR, you'll be at the forefront of our growth, connecting with potential customers and building the foundation for new partnerships. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Focusing on Kami's outbound selling motion (email, phone, virtual) to K-12 school districts in the US, leveraging an experimental mindset to constantly refine your approach and maximize effectiveness.
  • Collaborating closely with the VP of Sales and assigned Account Executives to create and execute a strategic territory plan with multiple cadences running simultaneously.
  • Strategizing with sales leadership and your peers to continuously refine our outbound sales process and identify new opportunities.
  • Becoming a Kami product expert, confidently engaging K-12 school district stakeholders through compelling conversations.
  • Setting 2-3 high-quality meetings daily for assigned Account Executives, contributing directly to our pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Delivering concise, engaging virtual demonstrations of Kami to generate interest and qualify prospects further.
  • Traveling to state and national education conferences (estimated <10% travel), representing Kami, and networking with key stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a driven individual ready to make a significant impact.

  • A positive, coachable mindset and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Minimum one (1) year of success in a sales development role, ideally in a K-12 EdTech (or SaaS) environment. K-12 teaching experience is a plus!
  • Deep experience with sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, SalesLoft) and familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting compelling messages and engaging in persuasive conversations.
  • A strong work ethic and a winning attitude, with a proven ability to thrive in a target-driven environment.
  • A college degree or relevant experience is preferred.

We're not called Kami-leons for nothing! You'll be working with a team full of agile, flexible, and open-minded people who want to make a difference in the world (and enjoy the process, too!).

If you're looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to impact the lives of millions, then this is your opportunity!

Kami is an equal-opportunity workplace, and we would like to hear from all qualified applicants. If you have a disability or any special needs that we might need to accommodate, please let us know.

What We Do

We come to work everyday to help foster a positive learning journey for everyone. Kami was developed in Aotearoa, New Zealand by four university friends who decided to make a difference. Ten years later, we’ve grown into a team of over 100 Kami-leons with a shared goal of supporting classroom heroes and leveling the playing field so that all students, no matter their age, grade, or ability, can love learning. We’re proud to have been named one of Time magazine’s most influential companies in 2022 and included in the Deloitte Fast 50 as the fastest growing company and fastest growing exporter in 2021. Our investors include leading Australian venture capitalist firm Right Click Capital, CapitalPitch, New Zealand-based Flying Kiwi Angels, New Zealand Venture Investment Fund, and notable Silicon Valley investors such as Sam Altman of Y Combinator and Scott Nolan of Founders Fund. Our Team: We believe that having a dedicated, enthusiastic, and non-hierarchical team can achieve remarkable things — we’re well on-track to proving it, too. Our company culture embraces diversity, compassion, transformation, and most importantly, fun! With these values, we're working to add a little magic to education so that teachers and students can achieve so much more together. We thrive in an encouraging environment where people can share ideas, generate solutions, and grow. Join us in building the future of education. Get in touch at [email protected], we’d love to hear from you!
