About the Role:
As an entry-level Government Sales Executive – State & Local at Conduent, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our business forward in the southern part of the United States (TX or FL). You will support business development efforts through close engagement with the Public Sector Sales Team under the direction of the Global Government Sales Leader. You'll have the opportunity to engage with key agency stakeholders, understand their business needs, and work with a team of subject matter experts to develop tailored solutions to address their challenges. With a focus on building strong relationships and staying informed about market trends, you'll lead the charge in securing new contracts and positioning Conduent as a trusted partner in the sector.
Responsibilities:
- Engages with key stakeholders within state and local agencies to foster long-term partnerships and understand their evolving needs.
- Shadows and Partners with the Public Sector Sales team and subject matter experts to execute on strategic growth imperatives.
- Generate leads and proactively prospect for new business opportunities within state and local agencies, leveraging industry contacts and networking events.
- Identifies, attends and shares relevant market intel gathered from local events, meetings, and legislative hearings.
- Tracks legislation and public budget hearing to identify and track potential opportunities and business impacts.
- Participate in the preparation and submission of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), collaborating with internal teams to develop compelling proposals that address client needs.
- Staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and government policies affecting state and local procurement, providing insights to inform sales strategies and positioning.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in government, with a proven track record of success in working closely with state and local government agency leaders and decision makers.
- Possess an understanding of state and local procurement processes, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements.
- Exhibit familiarity with relevant industries and solutions, such as government call center/BPO, healthcare systems and operations, payment and digital payment solutions.
- Showcase strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport with key stakeholders and decision-makers within state and local agencies.
- Demonstrate a strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies, identify market opportunities, and drive business growth.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and proposals effectively to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Obtaining relevant certifications in sales, government contracting, or related areas (e.g., State and local Sales Training, Certified Government Sales Professional) is a plus.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for bonuses or incentives. Conduent offers a variety of benefits including health insurance, dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $98,000 - $128,000.
