The State Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a 24-month project in Hawesville, Kentucky, with opportunities to work on future projects. This position is responsible for up to 1,200 tradecraft and office employees and will directly supervise 3-5 safety coordinators.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • As a Safety Manager, you will promote a positive, proactive safety culture through consistent leadership, behaviors, and actions.

  • Review, maintain, and update safety programs, conduct audits, and lead thorough accident investigations.

  • Represent the State Group in project, general, and subcontractor meetings.

  • Track and analyze incident metrics and trends, using data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage workers’ compensation cases with a high level of confidentiality, balancing the needs of the employee and the organization.

  • Communicate safety concerns, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports.

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and governing bodies.

  • Communicate issues, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports.

  • Lead the development, coaching, and performance management of direct reports to ensure team effectiveness and growth.

  • Divide time between working in the field and in the office.

  • Collaborate with Operations to support a strong safety culture and maintain strong relationships with clients and regional associations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

  • 7+ years of safety experience, including at least 3+ years in a direct supervisory role.

  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, training programs, inspections, and auditing processes.

  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is required.

  • Working knowledge of compliance related to DOT, OSHA, NESC, and other federal regulations is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to thrive and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to senior leadership and customers.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed during shutdown periods or peak operational activity.
