This is a part time permanent position.If the postholder requires a Standard or Enhanced DBS disclosure the candidate is required to declare full details of everything on their criminal record unless the conviction/s and/or caution/s are considered “protected” in line with filtering rules for DBS checks.
This role is not available for sponsorship therefore is only open to applicants who have the right to work in the UK
ROLE AND PURPOSE
To work within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) triaging and responding to safeguarding referrals in a timely and effective way.
To provide expert safeguarding advice and guidance and complete or direct others to complete section 42 enquiries to investigate allegations of neglect or abuse against adults with care and support needs in compliance with the Care Act 2014.
To use the Making Safeguarding Personal principles to work effectively with internal and ex-ternal stakeholders, people and their families/carers to assess and manage risk, intervening proportionately and ensuring people are protected from harm, while protecting their human rights.
The post holder will be required to attend, participate and chair multi-agency meetings, coroners court and court of protection and provide support to others in these arenas.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
2. Customer Focus – Lead and facilitate across the team, practice that empowers customers and carers through promoting independence as far as possible, by using knowledge and skills to promote quality of life through application of the Social Model of Disability.
3. Performance Management – Has responsibility for maintaining up to date, accurate and quality data on the Liquid Logic system with reference to safeguarding concerns, protection plans and risks.
4. Statutory Obligations – To promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults and undertake enquiries into allegations of significant harm of adults to ensure the welfare and protection of people at risk is maximised at all times. To include coordinating and chairing multi-agency strategy meetings.
5. Undertake safeguarding assessments and enquiries into concerns relating to adults with complex needs in cases of significant harm in either community or residential settings, to ensure the person’s welfare and protection is maintained at all times, this will include achieving best evidence and participating in enquires that are lead by the police.
6. Coordinate all stakeholders in the development of protection plans, risk management plans, to include chairing of multi-agency meetings with people, families, carers, providers and police officers from the public protection unit.
7. The post holder will possess the knowledge and skills to implement a range of tools and options to support people and carers in determining their own priorities and outcomes and how these will be met within a safeguarding framework.
8. To support the service delivery interface between all in house services and external providers and voluntary agencies, to monitor and support clear processes and communication pathways to ensure a responsive and flexible response to safeguarding alerters and/or concerns.
9. To manage cases that are complex and provide case load guidance, support and expert advice to other staff members who maybe the responsible case holder.
10. To provide supervision, guidance and direction to staff across services in managing safeguarding issues and ensuring consistent good quality practice within the safeguarding team and across services as a whole and makes full use of their own supervision by preparing effectively contributing fully and carrying out agreed actions.
11. To assist in the delivery of awareness/training and practice workshops on safeguarding practice, policy and procedures, to ensure a joint approach with the training dept and the Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board.

Skills Required
- Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship
