As a Trade Support Associate in Local Markets Rates Trading Middle Office, you provide first-line support to the trading desk by ensuring accurate trade capture, effective lifecycle management, and clear risk and profit and loss reporting. You work with us to resolve issues quickly, partner across control functions, and maintain a strong control environment that protects clients and the firm. You will contribute to continuous improvement through disciplined execution, root-cause analysis, and participation in change initiatives.
Job responsibilities
- Capture trades accurately in the risk management system and ensure timely completion of required trade details
- Verify new transactions against term sheets, sales recap information, and broker confirmations
- Monitor lifecycle events and ensure timely processing of key events such as rate fixings and resets
- Review confirmation documentation and resolve discrepancies versus internal bookings
- Investigate profit and loss and risk questions from the front office and drive issues to closure
- Produce daily and ad hoc risk and exposure reports for control and oversight partners
- Run scenario analyses and “what-if” assessments to support trading decisions and risk understanding
- Partner with settlements, collateral, finance, and other control groups to ensure smooth downstream processing
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and internal control requirements for reportable trades
- Test changes to models, analytics, and booking workflows and document impacts for stakeholders
- Improve processes through root-cause analysis, standardization, and automation ideas
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrate working knowledge of interest rate derivatives and trade lifecycle concepts (for example, interest rate swaps, forward rate agreements, cross-currency swaps, total return swaps)
- Apply understanding of market risk concepts and sensitivities used in rates trading (for example, delta, gamma, vega, theta)
- Explain key drivers of trading profit and loss and reconcile differences with supporting evidence
- Execute strong control discipline, including attention to detail and follow-through on exceptions
- Communicate clearly with trading, risk, finance, and operations partners in a time-sensitive environment
