KBR is looking for a Risk Coordinator to be based in Basra, Iraq – Daily Commute

The role is responsible for coordinating project risk management activities and supporting schedule integration across the Project.

Accountability

The Schedule & Risk Coordinator is accountable for maintaining an effective Project Risk Management process, coordinating risk mitigation activities, and ensuring alignment of interface schedules and milestones across the CSSP Project. The role supports integration between WIP and Pipeline Project schedules, follows execution progress from the field, and provides reliable information to support project decision-making. The position serves as backup to the Planning Engineer when required; however, ownership of the Integrated Project Schedule, schedule development, forecasting, and baseline control remains with the Planning Engineer.

Qualifications/Experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Project Controls, Construction Planning, Risk Management, or Project Execution within major Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, or EPC projects.
  • Extensive field construction experience with direct involvement in site execution, construction sequencing, workfront planning, contractor performance monitoring, and multidisciplinary team coordination.
  • Proven experience in developing, maintaining, and challenging Project Risk Registers, risk assessments, mitigation plans, and risk management processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in schedule integration, interface management, and coordination of critical milestones across multiple contractors, stakeholders, and project packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate construction, logistics, procurement, interface, and country-specific project risks.
  • Proven ability to independently challenge contractor schedules, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and execution plans through analytical review and field verification.
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops and coordinating mitigation actions with risk owners and project stakeholders.
  • Experience working in complex multi-contractor execution environments, including large-scale brownfield and greenfield developments.
  • Ability to provide risk-based assessments and construction-driven recommendations to support project management decision-making.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of project risk management methodologies, quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques, and risk reporting systems.
  • strong understanding of construction execution processes, construction sequencing, work packaging, site productivity, and contractor performance monitoring.
  • Strong capability to evaluate construction readiness, identify execution constraints, and assess impacts on project milestones and critical paths.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and schedule analysis techniques, including critical path analysis, float consumption, schedule risk assessment, and recovery planning.
