Reporting Engineer position is within the Project Control Organization of the Project reporting to the Planning & Reporting Manager. 

Job dimensions

The Reporting Engineer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting project performance data to support  decision-making and ensure transparency across all phases of the CSSP Project. The role contributes to the timely and accurate delivery of internal and external reports, dashboards, and KPIs, including HSE and risk-related metrics.   

In addition, the Reporting Engineer is responsible for supporting project digitalization and information management  initiatives, ensuring the effective governance, quality, accessibility, and integration of project information across all  participating organizations. The position oversees the Information Management Assistant function and promotes the efficient use of digital collaboration platforms, reporting systems, document management tools, and data-sharing  solutions to enhance project execution and stakeholder alignment.   

The role acts as a focal point between Project Controls, Engineering, Construction, HSE, Contractors, and Company 
stakeholders to ensure consistency, traceability, and reliability of project data and information throughout the project lifecycle. 

Iraq Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP) intends to provide treated seawater to the oil fields in southern Ira
(for injection). CSSP is composed of water pipelines which are part of Basra Oil Company (BOC) scope of work, an
the Water Infrastructure Project (WIP), previously named STF (Seawater Treatment Facilities). The WIP will be located

on the west side of the Khor Al Zubair, upstream of the port of Umm Qasr.   

  

The major components of the WIP include seawater intake and outfall structures, material offloading facility,  seawater clarification, filtration and deoxygenating processes, shipping pumps, a fuel gas pipeline, power generation,  utilities and non-process.   

The budget of the WIP is circa $3Bln.

The Reporting Engineer is expected to commence duties in the 3rd Qtr 2026 and will be based in Basra.

Activities

1-  Reporting & Analysis 

  • Collect and validate progress data from various project disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, etc.) 
  • Prepare and update weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries. 
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including physical progress, productivity, and forecasted completion dates. 
  • Support the Planning & Reporting Manager in preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency and traceability of reporting documentation across all project phases. 

2-  HSE & Risk Reporting 

  • Monitor and report HSE performance indicators (e.g., LTIs, TRIR, safety observations) in coordination with HSE teams. 
  • Maintain and update HSE dashboards and integrate safety metrics into overall project reporting. 
  • Assist in compiling and presenting periodic risk assessments and mitigation tracking. 

3-  Systems & Tools 

  • Use reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project control systems to generate visualizations and reports. 
  • Ensure data integrity and alignment between planning, cost control, and reporting systems. 

4-  Documentation & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies, BOC, and Project standards for reporting procedures 
  • Support audits, reviews, and project evaluations by providing accurate and timely reporting documentation 
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Planning, Cost Control, Contracts, HSE) to ensure reporting accuracy. 
    5- Information Management & Digitalization 
  • Lead project information management and digitalization activities.  
  • Supervise the Information Management Assistant and oversee project information, data, and records management.  
  • Ensure information quality, consistency, accessibility, and traceability across all project stakeholders.   
  • Coordinate information exchange between Company and Contractors.   
  • Support and optimize digital tools and platforms, including SharePoint, Power BI, and document management systems.  
  • Develop and maintain project data repositories, dashboards, and reporting systems. 

Context and environment

TotalEnergies is acting as Contractor to BOC. After the completion of the Project, the Facilities will be handed over to BOC for operation. 

Accountabilities

The Reporting Engineer is responsible for collecting, analysing, and presenting project performance data while  ensuring effective information management and digital collaboration across the CSSP Project. The role drives  reporting excellence, supports project digitalization initiatives, supervises the Information Management Assistant, and ensures that project information is accurate, accessible, integrated, and available to support timely decision- making across all stakeholders. 

Qualifications / Experience required

  • Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project reporting within large-scale industrial or oil & gas projects 
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills 
  • Proficiency in reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) 
  • Experience in Information Management or Project Data Management.  
  • Understanding of data governance and information quality principles. 
  • Good communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and high-pressure environment 
  • Experience in Engineering/Construction commercial or contracts administration role. Ability to listen to and understand the signals and queries from various interlocutors. 

Languages: English is mandatory, knowledge of French and Arabic is a plus
