Revenue Accountant

This role is hybrid with 3 days in the office (Cracow, Fabryczna)
The Basics

Tanium is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Global Revenue Accounting 6 people team. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The Global Revenue Accounting team is responsible for accurately recognizing revenue in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Daily, the revenue accountants review contract documents (customer agreements, purchase orders, and license delivery files) and record assessments in a revenue checklist. The revenue accountants ensure that the system revenue recognition schedules are accurate and consistent with the revenue checklists. The role requires effective cross-functional communication to collaborate with various departments to ensure revenue schedule accuracy. Additionally, the revenue accountants may assist with preparing revenue-related financial reporting, customer credit limit assessments, and process automation.

What you’ll do

• Review customer contracts and document assessments in deal review checklists to ensure compliance with Tanium’s revenue recognition policy and ASC 606 
• Assist with month-end close processes associated with revenue recognition, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and/or fluctuation analysis
• Collaborate with Revenue Operations to ensure customer contracts are recorded accurately 
• Maintain accurate system revenue recognition schedules for product and service revenue streams 
• Assist in providing audit support for revenue transactions 
• Identify opportunities to implement improvements to operational revenue processes and to enhance controls
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

We’re looking for someone with

• Education
  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience
  • 2+ years of experience at a large public accounting firm or in a corporate accounting department 
  • Knowledge of IFRS 15/ ASC 606 revenue recognition principles
  • Ability to work independently and effectively meet deadlines 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook applications 
  • Familiarity with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) or similar systems experience preferred
