What You'll Do:
This Revenue Accounting Manager position reports to the Director of Accounts Receivable with dotted line reporting to the Vice President Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring managing the billing process, ensuring that unusual or different contracts are billed both within the contract terms, and that revenue is recognized appropriately per GAAP. This position may also help with credit and collection matters as well as various other projects as assigned. This position is fully remote with occasional travel to Albuquerque or Denver for team gatherings or large company meetings.

  • Manage the monthly and semi-monthly billing processes
  • Assist with revenue review and analysis in various forms
  • Ensure revenue is booked within GAAP guidelines
  • Guide the billing team through the review of SalesForce CPQ quotes and opportunities and assist with corrections, issues, improvements, and procedure documentation
  • Focus on improvements to the billing processes as a whole and help maintain a strong team
  • Work with various other internal teams on non-standard contract terms and how to bill and recognize revenue in an automated fashion
  • Help drive change management within the billing team as well as sales, and product with respect to non-standard contract terms and the use of the new CPQ system
  • Perform month end journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare the internal aging report
  • Work with collections, sales, and operations teams to help resolve billing and account discrepancies
  • Support the AR and Accounting teams with other projects and duties as assigned


What you'll need:

  • Must have 5 years' experience in accounting with at least 3 years of revenue recognition focus
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Foundational knowledge of NetSuite or other similar ERP accounting systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Experience with SaaS or technology companies preferred
  • Previous experience with foreign currency is a plus
  • Excellent professional communications skills, including the confidence to push back if necessary
  • Strong computer skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, can work with large amounts of data in an efficient way
  • Highly detail-oriented, responsive, efficient and organized
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment, but also work well autonomously
  • Self-starter
