What you’ll do

Working closely with BIC leadership, the Business Intelligence Senior Specialist - Operations role will help to manage the various operational processes that exist across the function.  The successful candidate will play a central role in developing and executing key operational processes that drive the success of the function, evolve our culture, and ensure that we provide a seamless service to our internal clients and our team.

The Business Intelligence Senior Specialist - Operations is a full-time role located in Dallas, Texas or New York, New York and reports to a Business Intelligence Director or Business Intelligence Manager. Paid relocation is not available for this position. 

Research Resources

  • Manage the numerous global BIC research contracts, including evaluating renewal needs, periodically reviewing usage, onboarding new users (offboarding departing employees) and allocating out invoice costs to various Industries and Service Lines within AlixPartners.
  • Aid colleagues implementing new research resources, by guiding them through the process on their business case (budgets, checks, approvals, demos, procurement) to ensure agreement by all parties.
  • Own the day-to-day relationship management with our providers which can involve negotiating annual fees, regular update calls and scheduling training.

Operations

  • Manage the various processes needed to help ‘behind-the-scenes’ to ensure smooth functioning day-to-day operations. Facilitate regular monthly team calls and communications, welcome new BIC team members including ownership of some onboarding activities and ensuring that our BIC policies and procedures are up to date for compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Regularly review and update the BIC internal pages (BIC Hub and Vault) working with members of the Knowledge Management team.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience ideally in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Results orientated – ensure every activity has a commercial goal or objective that guides the planning and execution of activities.
  • Great communicator – collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization, interpret requirements, establish clear objectives, build timelines, and report back.
  • Excellent work management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously – capable of managing and coordinating a broad and demanding, fast-paced workload in an organized, controlled, and efficient manner with the ability and confidence to prioritize.
  • Ability to think outside the box – conceptualize new ideas, bring through different ways of effective communication to reach different audiences.
  • Attention to detail – ensure own and others’ work is to the highest standard.
  • Flexible with the ability to take ownership of projects, deliver on time and to budget.
  • Enthusiasm and energy – a willingness to learn and possesses a ‘can do’ approach, with solid people skills and a team player.
  • Proficiency in the various internal and external tools/platforms used to support with both the research and operations is highly preferred:
    • AlixHub (AlixPartners SharePoint)
    • External client portals (for new joiners e.g. Gartner, Dow Jones, BvD, LexisNexis)
    • Concur (finance/invoicing management system)
    • Ironclad/Spring (Procurement/Legal contract database)
    • Teams
    • ServiceNow (BIC Request/KnowledgeBase for automated e-mail responses)
    • Vault (internal BIC contract management SharePoint database)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 7.34 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave, and twelve holidays.  

The hourly range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $40/hr. - $49/hr. with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
