Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Research and Development Executive to lead product formulation, development, and improvement across home and personal care categories. The role involves managing the full product lifecycle from concept to launch, while ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery through strong cross-functional collaboration. The Research and Development Executive will combine technical expertise with project management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve product formulations in laundry, detergent, and personal/home care categories.
- Lead new product development projects from concept through commercialization.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, stability studies, benchmarking, and prototype quality analysis.
- Identify and validate new or alternative raw materials through supplier engagement and trials.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (production, procurement, QA, marketing, logistics) to meet project timelines.
- Prepare project updates and reports for senior management and head office.
- Support scale-up from laboratory to pilot and commercial production, including industrial trials and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ISO, and cGMP standards and maintain complete R&D documentation.
- Collaborate on packaging and artwork development, including validation and optimization.
- Conduct market visits and competitor analysis to inform innovation and product improvements.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar R&D role, preferably in home or personal care manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, quality standards, ISO, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and working cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate attention to detail, and drive innovation while maintaining quality standards.
