Team Overview

The Tenant & Employment (T&E) Operations team supports TransUnion's employment and tenant screening business by delivering accurate, compliant, and timely screening services that help customers make informed housing and employment decisions. The team is responsible for identity verification, consumer disclosures, dispute resolution, criminal record verification, and other critical back-office operations that ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance. This team reports to the T&E Operations Manager/Team Lead within the Consumer Interactive business unit. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The T&E Back Office Operations Representative plays a role in supporting employment and tenant screening operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and service level commitments.

  • Review and validate identity verification documents to support accurate consumer verification and screening decisions.
  • Process consumer/ Customer requests in accordance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements and established operational procedures.
  • Investigate, research, and resolve consumer disputes while maintaining regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Complete recommendation transactions and screening-related workflows accurately and within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Respond to customer and consumer inquiries through email while providing timely, professional, and accurate resolutions.
  • Conduct outbound calls to U.S. courts, government agencies, and public record sources to verify criminal case information and obtain case disposition details.
  • Review criminal background screening results, eviction records, and housing-related records to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Document research findings and verification outcomes accurately within designated systems and tools.
  • Maintain productivity, quality, and compliance performance metrics while adhering to operational procedures and business policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex cases and improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review and verify documents.
  • Good typing skills and proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in handling outbound calls and interacting professionally with customers, employers, courts, and other external contacts.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. employment and tenant screening processes, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Freshers and candidates with less than 1 year of experience preferred

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, case management tools, or workflow management platforms.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to conduct online research and utilize public record databases effectively.
