Position Purpose
 

The purpose of the job is to manage tasks in collaboration with different business functions. The jobholder is required to help represent Axios in daily meetings pharmaceutical company and other involved stakeholders on a country and regional level such representation will help to understand their needs, communicate and position our services, demonstrate our know-how, and articulate our competitive advantages in the market.  


 

Duties and Responsibilities
 

 

Strategic Business Development 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and follow up on opportunities identified by Axios business leaders for new projects or for expanding projects with the pharmaceutical industry at local and regional levels 
  • Capture business development opportunities in the business development CRM. Similarly capture stakeholder insights in the related database. 
  • Request, support and present compelling business proposals and presentations to potential clients 
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify growth opportunities and understand the local changes that may affect business opportunities as well as Axios projects 
  • Present monthly business opportunity reports using the CRM with clear metrics and KPIs 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical companies 
  • Follow up on leads within 1 business day of initial contact 
  • From time to time you may be required to engage with hospitals, healthcare providers, distributors, and other stakeholders to foster strong relationships and ensure alignment with Axios’ mission and values. 

 

Work directly with the Chief Business Officer and Business Excellence Team  

  • Provide regular updates on market trends, client feedback, and competitive landscape 
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to growth initiatives 
  • Support the development of service offerings based on market demands 
  • Attend industry events, conferences, or networking sessions  
  • Represent, the company at trade shows and industry forums 
  • Monitor industry regulations and policy changes that may impact Axios' business operations, providing strategic guidance and advocacy as needed. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Axios' programs, services, and industry trends, providing training and support to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed. 

 

Relationships
 

  • Reports to Chief Business Officer 
  • Work with Business Excellence team on stakeholder outreach and business development opportunity Maintain ongoing and frequent communication with project team leaders including Axios regional and global staff to understand the operations, their strategic potential and the relationship with existing clients.  


 

Technical skills, Professional skills and competencies 

  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations, compliance requirements, and market dynamics 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience in patient support programs or market access is a plus

Educational Background and Experience
 

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field 
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical services companies (consulting, quality assurance, marketing agency, patient support program provider or regulatory affairs) 
  • Proven track record of achieving business development targets and driving business growth. 
  • Extensive network of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry (key decision-makers, procurement managers, quality heads, regulatory professionals) at local and regional levels.  
  • Network extending to healthcare providers, hospitals, pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, supply chain partners and pharmacy chains 

 

Job Circumstances
 

  • The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and it requires frequent travel to client sites across local and regional territories and other sites to represent Axios  
  • Flexibility in the ability to travel as well as working hours is essential. 
  • Frequent travel required to client sites across local and regional territories. 
  • Attendance at industry events, including occasional evening or weekend activities. 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical services companies (consulting, quality assurance, marketing agency, patient support program provider or regulatory affairs)
