Reinsurance Contract Administrator

Reviews and drafts reinsurance contracts in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Provides advice and counsel to internal customers concerning all aspects of the Reinsurance function.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain reinsurance documentation in accordance with statutory timeframes.
- Compare contract clauses to Company standards and state requirements.
- Answer reinsurance contract related questions from Accounting and Claims.
- Compile written review notes for distribution to counterparty and enforces wording compliance.
- Escalate non-compliant wording to Manager and documents any exceptions to file.
- Create draft synopsis of reinsurance contract for review by manager.
- Identify risk transfer triggers to manager for possible review by Actuarial.
- Input data to various tracking databases and produces reports.
- Communicate with counterparties to ensure that reinsurer signatures are received within nine months.
- Maintain orderly and compliant contract files.
- Assist with Security Committee report.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2 years of relevant and progressive professional experience.
- Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
Occasional travel (up to 10% of time).
