Position Details:
The Regional Sales Vice President will be responsible for performance that is consistent with our strategic direction along with the business development of customers covered by a group of Inside Sales Associates. You will help create sales and marketing strategies and manage $500 million in business and direct responsibility for approximately 120 sales employees (7 District Sales Leaders and 2 Inside Sales Managers and 110 Inside Sales Associates). You will report to the Vice President of Inside Sales.
Location - Onsite, San Antonio, TX
You Will:• Promote profitable sales growth for customers assigned to the region; prioritize resources against largest opportunities.• Achieve growth and profitability targets by assigning sales growth targets.• Optimize sales team size, structure, and alignment to maximize productivity.• Select, coach, retain, and inspire Inside Sales Leaders in the region.• Help create development plans.• Provide sales leadership and demonstrate understanding of sales environment and issues (e.g., growth prospects, sales team turnover).• Help create sales and marketing strategies.• Coordinate with service organizations in the region (e.g., Branches, Service Centers, Distribution Centers, Implementation Team, National Accounts, Healthcare, and Government).• Collaborate with partners internally and maintain important customer relationships.• Develop customer attraction and retention programs.• Assist Inside Sales Leaders in their understanding and commitment to live the Grainger values.
You Have:• 5+ years of sales experience• 3+ years of sales management experience• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.• Action orientation, fast moving and intrinsically motivated.• An undergraduate degree or have equivalent related experience.• Knowledge of sales strategy and marketing, customer requirements, and the competitive environment. Knowledge is required of the legal and regulatory issues which affect the business.• Experience leading large teams• Skills necessary to coach and counsel teams.• Must be accomplished at identifying and creating opportunities for developing team member potential.• Must be experienced with resource allocation.• Strong financial acumen necessary to create business strategies, cost/budgets, and economic earnings.• Ideal candidate will live in the greater Chicago-land area.
