The Regional Sales Manager position is responsible for delivering regional sales targets, leading regional account managers, and maintaining and expanding relationships within key accounts. The role works closely with the Director of Sales, Global Account Directors, and regional business units to identify, develop, and implement account capture plans, regional growth strategies, and market share gain initiatives. The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and progression of the regional sales funnel, the development of integrated solutions and expanded scopes of work, and the performance and development of the regional account management team.
ResponsibilitiesFunctions
Primary focus on leading regional sales performance, delivering regional sales targets, developing key account growth, and coordinating the delivery of Oceaneering’s SSR, OPG and IMDS solutions, discrete products, and services across the assigned region.
Lead, manage, mentor, and coach assigned regional account managers, ensuring clear ownership of account plans, opportunity progression, CRM hygiene, forecasting quality, and sales activity aligned to regional priorities.
Own the regional sales forecast, ensuring pipeline accuracy, opportunity stage discipline, and timely submission of forecast updates for review with Sales Management and regional stakeholders.
Establish and maintain regular regional sales operating cadence, including account reviews, opportunity reviews, funnel health checks, forecast reviews, and follow-up actions with assigned account managers.
With Sales Management, establish and deliver regional performance goals aligned with sales targets, account growth, opportunity conversion, year-over-year revenue growth, gross margin, and profitability.
Provide regional sales leadership across internal stakeholders, ensuring account managers, business units, operations, and commercial teams are aligned on priority opportunities, customer requirements, bid strategy, and execution risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibility for assigned Regional Account Managers within the allocated region. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for setting expectations, coaching performance, supporting development plans, prioritizing workload, and ensuring clear accountability for regional account plans, opportunity progression, and sales results.
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent related work experience.
10+ years related experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including proven experience in sales leadership, account management, regional sales planning, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Business acumen to understand risk and challenges and demonstrable track record delivering large multimillion-dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects and contributing to regional revenue and margin targets.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop sales professionals, including setting clear priorities, reviewing performance, supporting development plans, and holding team members accountable for agreed actions and results.
DESIRED
MBA or Engineering Degree
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as CRM and Power BI software
