Role Purpose
The Home Office Reporting Senior Analyst will be responsible for interacting, and providing support to the LATAM countries on the monthly/quarterly Financial closing, in addition to managing the reporting requirements from COG and from Global Life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the LATAM monthly financial closing process. Extensive communication with the countries and with Home Office is required to assure timely and accurately financial reporting.
- Responsible for analysing/correcting/P&L and BS schedules in the PAW system. Required explanations of financial accounting movements need to be provided for the CHUBB Life segment.
- Responsible for reviewing B/S and P&L movements to detect incorrect manual adjustments, errors from local systems, and errors in FX transactions by utilizing multiple tools based on Alteryx and Qlik Sense platforms.
- Responsible for Controlling/monitoring of key BS accounts that include OIE, Foreign Exchange, and DSC. Analyst must provide detailed explanations on the monthly movements of these accounts.
- Responsible for preparing and booking monthly manual adjustments for the LIFE segment related to production and expenses.
- Responsible for the reconciliation and support of specific BS accounts for the Blackline process.
- Responsible for analysis of all manual entries processed across the region every month. The analyst will provide explanations on the reasons for the entries and feedback on eliminating them.
- Responsible for assisting in the quarterly reporting of Balance Sheet Fluxes and IQ’s. This process utilizes Qlik/FRA Blackline to provide the variances to be explained. The analyst will review the data, and commentaries provided by the countries prior to the final submission to HO.
Must be highly analytical and be able to implement KPI’s to anticipate issues and mitigate risk.
Analyst must drive and support ad hoc analysis to solve emerging business issues or financial accounting issues.
Evaluate existing processes and develop implementation plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness while adding value to the organization.
- Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting needed.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting required.
- Knowledge of Insurance preferred.
- Knowldege of PeopleSoft GL a must, PCW.
- Advance knowledge of Excel.
- Fluent English and Spanish.
