The Regional Director - Sales is responsible for leading sales growth and maximizing profitability across multiple locations/markets. This position is focused on achieving top and bottom-line financial goals, meeting, or exceeding budget and NIBE (Net Income Before Expense) targets. The role involves fostering strong customer relationships, particularly through direct engagement alongside Key Account Managers, to uncover opportunities and expand wallet share. Driving increased sales/profitability and reducing expenses are the top priorities for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Customer Engagement

  • Deliver Results: Drive increased sales and decreased expenses across assigned locations/markets to meet or exceed budget and profitability goals.
  • Customer Centricity: Visit customers regularly with Key Account Managers (KAM) to understand their needs, provide solutions, and find opportunities to grow Kennicott’s share of their business.
  • Key Accounts: Lead the development of action plans for Key and Growth Accounts, ensuring strategies are in place to keep and grow top customers while acquiring new ones.
  • Sales Strategy: Set up and communicate clear sales goals, priorities, and performance metrics for each location.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Mentorship: Inspire, coach, and develop Location Leaders to deliver outstanding results, addressing performance gaps, and creating high-performing teams.
  • Hiring and Training: Build a strong leadership pipeline by hiring, training, and developing Location Leaders and their teams to meet sales and operational goals effectively.
  • Performance Management: Regularly evaluate team performance, provide actionable feedback, and implement plans to improve profitability and sales outcomes.

Operational and Financial Oversight

  • Profitability Focus: Analyze sales and expense data to show trends, challenges, and opportunities, setting targets to perfect profitability across the region.
  • Cost Control: Ensure all locations run efficiently, adhering to budget constraints while maximizing sales impact.
  • Market Trends: Stay updated on competitor strategies, industry trends, and customer behaviors to keep a competitive edge.

Collaboration and Strategic Initiatives

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with the Home Office and marketing team to design promotions, introduce new products, and align regional efforts with company goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Oversee adherence to safety programs and company standards at all locations.
