General Responsibilities:

Define and implement customer’s strategy, for the Americas region, in order to meet the company targets in terms of growth & profitability. Support Global Customer Line Manager Strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities include the following: 

Develop Customer Intimacy:

  • Identify the decision-making process at the customer & channel of decision
  • Establish customer intimacy in all departments as needed (Engineering, quality, Purchasing)
  • Visit customers at the site/region level in accordance with the company targets
  • Develop high-level relationships in order to anticipate customer’s needs
  • Maintain good customers’ relationships when customers crisis happen
  • Act within the Business Unit as the voice of the customer

Develop & Implement Customer Strategy:

  • Based on automotive megatrends, propose & define & implement customer strategy in order to meet the company targets in terms of growth & profitability ( 5 years outlook and annual Operating Plan)
  • Define customer approach on a regional basis when appropriate and in support of global strategy
  • Prepare & develop a business case in accordance with the company strategy in terms of growth & profitability
  • Translate customer’s needs into pre-selling activities
  • Promote innovative solutions and sell products to customers 

Lead Customer Line Organization:

  • Build a Regional CLM team able to reach the company targets in each area of responsibility (Engineering, Sales, project management)
  • Optimize the pool of resources in accordance with budget targets & resource allocation
  • Develop & assess team reporting to the RCLM
  • Supervises customers’ projects in terms of cost quality & delivery. (gate review, resources allocation, arbitration when needed)

Team Management:

  • Foster a climate of teamwork and motivation within the team by encouraging an entrepreneurship mindset, professional development, and growth of employees (assessment, training, coaching, and mentoring)
  • Ensure the deployment of the company communication to the team
  • Ensure an appropriate work environment for the team

Qualifications:

The Ideal candidate will:

Key Competencies: Good knowledge of the automotive market, knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical understanding, ability to develop a regional customer strategy, strong ability to work in a multicultural environment, excellent customer focus, solid financial acumen, strong technical negotiation skills, ability to lead a cross-functional team (including Application Engineering, Sales, and Project Management), fluent English proficiency, and intermediate proficiency in German.

  • Professional and technical knowledge: Office Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc. SAP, Fluent English language.
  • Behaviors: Critical Thinking, Result oriented, Leadership, Collaboration & Teamwork, Ownership & Accountability
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills, Well organized, inquisitive, and independent, Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while paying strict attention to detail, Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and Powerpoint, Available for travel, including international

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Studies or related field

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the Automotive industry at Tier 1 level, Experience working with European OEMs is preferred

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple global locations to support project development.
