Our subsidiary, Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH (ICT GmbH), with ~160 employees, develops and produces electron microscopes, the heart of our machines, which monitor processes in semiconductor production and classify the smallest defects on wafers. To meet the rapidly increasing demand from our customers in the semiconductor industry, our location near Munich, Germany is constantly growing.

With a strong intension to expand our newly founded Productization team in our facility near Munich, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in physics and engineering and a passion for transferring innovation in electron beam (eBeam) technology into products. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and scale eBeam technology processes from concept through commercialization

  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure a prompt execution as well as efficient and smooth production

  • Take a lead on driving our suppliers to excellence for enabling smooth manufacturing processes in our facility near Munich

Key Responsibilities: 
 

Productization: 

  • Support and enable the productization of leading-edge Ebeam technologies throughout the product development process. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Physics, Mechanical Design, Engineering, Quality assurance & NPI to ensure seamless integration of new processes. 

 

Research & Development: 

  • Define and implement measures to achieve the right maturity level of new products to enable the introduction into series manufacturing. 

  • Focus on design for manufacturability (DFM) and understanding of the technology space of our vendors. 

  • Develop, test, and establish design rules within the R&D team for the development process. 

  • Qualify new designs via designing and performing relevant experiments. 

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the development processes. 

 
Process Optimization: 

  • Define and apply risk management and problem-solving methodologies to complex technical projects. 

  • Implement new productization processes improvements within a multidisciplinary development team. 

  • Apply data analysis processes to enable data driven decisions. 

  • Support with defining the pilot production strategy. 

Qualifications: 

  • Master degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. 

  • Relevant experience in product development, preferably within semiconductor, advanced optics, or a comparable high-tech field. 

  • Preferably knowledge and experience in the field of electron microscopy, ultra-high vacuum, and high voltage technology 

  • Proven experience in risk analysis methodologies (e.g., FMEA) and design of experiments (DoE) 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using software such as MATLAB, Python, or similar. 

  • Mechanical design expertise and good understanding of relevant manufacturing technologies and limitations 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
