As a RAN Feature Verification Engineer, you will join a collaborative team working with Ericsson's Baseband software for 5G and future 6G Radio Access Networks (RAN). You will contribute to the quality, integration and reliability of software that powers modern mobile networks. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with software testing, integration, troubleshooting and test automation while working alongside experienced engineers. You will learn how complex real-time systems and telecom products work and develop your skills in a global R&D environment.
We are looking for people with strong potential and a genuine interest in testing and software quality. You do not need to be an expert in telecom or 5G/6G - we will support you in developing this knowledge on the job.
About our organization
Our organization, Product Engineering Group 3 (PEG 3), is part of Product Engineering Unit RAN Performance (PEU RP), which is responsible for Ericsson's Baseband software for the Purpose-built and Cloud RAN portfolio in 5G and 6G.
The FV test team works with Integration and Verification end to end on real and simulated Hardware. But are also developing test automation testcases.

What you will do
As a RAN Feature Verification Engineer, you will:
• Develop (integrate and test) 5G and 6G baseband architecture, functionality and features in an end-to-end as well as in a partly simulated environment.• Write inventive, high quality, clean, optimized test code for use in verification and continuous integration.• Maintain and improve the quality of L1 and L2 part of the Baseband product by securing legacy coverage in test loops.• Perform trouble shooting and customer support.• Drive continuous improvements of products, environments and processes.• Make sure that the right test environment is available in time, both the actual system test plant and the test environment with tools and automation frameworks.• Analyze new requirements from new features.• Be part of our AI transformation journey.

In addition, we believe you have: • Interest in and drive to learn software test and integration.• BSc level (MSc preferred) in a technical field or the equivalent level of knowledge.• Programming/scripting skills (Java, Python, Erlang).• Multi-core processor understanding.• Basic Real time embedded systems knowledge.• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and coding assistants (for example Coding Buddy, GitHub Copilot or similar tools).• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The following are considered an advantage, but can also be developed on the job:• Knowledge of mobile networks, 4G/5G or 6G.• Experience with software test automation.• Knowledge of Baseband or Radio Access Network technologies.• Familiarity with CI/CD or modern software development and testing practices.
