About the Opportunity

In this role, you will work at the forefront of antenna development, focusing on future-oriented antenna concepts and the application of emerging technologies. What you will do:• Develop next-generation antenna systems for cellular base stations, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and future network demands.• Translate network-level and system requirements into antenna architectures, radiator concepts, and technology choices.• Design, evaluate and optimize radiator and feeding concepts for future antenna platforms, including highly integrated, multiband and advanced antenna solutions.• Perform and guide EM (electromagnetic methods) modelling and simulation to drive design decisions and achieve optimal system performance.• Explore and apply new technologies, materials and concepts to enable future antenna architectures and improve KPIs.• Collaborate closely with system, mechanical, industrialization and manufacturing teams to ensure feasible and robust solutions.• Contribute to technical studies, investigations and feasibility studies for antenna solutions and product roadmaps.• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to leadership and project teams.• Represent EAS (Ericsson Antenna System) in standardization of bodies and industry groups.
The skills you bring
Antenna Hardware for cellular systems • Strong understanding of the network-level impact of antenna features, enabling informed architecture ideation and concept selection.• Extensive knowledge of antenna system architecture viewed holistically and as a sum of interacting sub-functions.• Deep technical competence in signal distribution architectures and technologies, including transmission lines, power dividers, couplers, phase shifters and filters; to assure optimal joint performance with the antenna front side and ultimately to enable the achievement of high level KPIs.• Expertise in radiator design and surrounding components such as decoupling structures and signal distribution networks.• Competence in the selection of and design with materials and solutions: metals, PCBs (Printed Circuit Board), dielectrics.• Solid understanding of the mechanical aspects that enable feasible, effective component and system materialization to the highest industry standards: possibilities, performance and constraints of materials and processes.• Extensive knowledge of market & industry requirements, Ericsson technical portfolio and competitor solutions.
Antenna EM (electromagnetic methods) modeling & simulation tools • Solid experience in EM (electromagnetic methods) modeling and simulation tool possibilities that allow optimal component development.• Deep competence in feature selection for simulation enablement and acceleration, as well as issue solving.
Personal skills • Strong analytical mindset with a structured and solution-oriented working style.• Curiosity and motivation to explore new technologies and future antenna concepts.• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, international teams.• Clear and confident communication on technical topics.• High level accountability, reliability, and professional integrity.
