The opportunity
The R&D Test Engineer for high-voltage products (main focus: gas-insulated switchgear and hydromechanical operating mechanisms) is responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing tests in our laboratory in Karlstein am Main, ensuring that products meet defined design requirements.
This role requires close collaboration with global R&D teams to develop test protocols and ensure quality assurance throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
How you’ll make an impact
Plan and execute test activities, including defining test plans, timelines, and required resources
Coordinate and monitor internal and external testing, ensuring alignment on quality, progress, and budget
Perform tests independently and ensure reliable and accurate results and conduct test analyses for documentation and root cause investigations
Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of test equipment and tools
Prepare and maintain technical test documentation and share results with relevant stakeholders
Identify and implement improvements in testing methods, tools, and processes
Support certification activities and ensure compliance with applicable standards
Contribute to budget planning and monitor costs related to testing activities
Your background
Degree in Engineering or a related field
0–2 years of experience in research and development in an industrial or business environment
Good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
Basic understanding of relevant technical fundamentals in the field
Familiarity with external standards and regulations
